The new standard of stainless steel tableware

Due to the changes in the classification method of stainless steel plate types currently used in the production of stainless steel tableware containers in China, there are many types of stainless steel plate types, and will continue to increase in the future. According to the actual use of stainless steel tableware containers in contact with food, the revised standard The relevant regulations on stainless steel models have been cancelled, and only austenitic stainless steel, austenitic-ferritic stainless steel, and ferritic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance should be selected for tableware containers; and for tableware that is in contact with food for a short time For the drilling and grinding tools of food processing machinery and equipment, martensitic stainless steel with greater hardness and poor corrosion resistance can be used; other metals, glass, rubber, and plastics can be used for non-main parts of stainless steel tableware containers that contact food. And other materials, but the materials used must meet the corresponding national standards and requirements.
Industry insiders told reporters that the draft for comments relaxes the material restrictions for stainless steel cooking utensils, taking the safety and sanitation of stainless steel cooking utensils as the most basic and most important measurement index. If the new standard can be implemented smoothly as soon as possible, it will be possible to provide a reliable and fair judgment in the market.
Zhang Dongli, chairman of the China Hardware Products Association, also recently stated that “the 1988 standard has been seriously lagging behind” because there have been many new breakthroughs in stainless steel materials in the past two decades. Zhang Dongli said that the China National Hardware Association last year also revised the stainless steel container industry standard (the 1992 standard) promulgated by the Ministry of Public Health in 1992 based on the draft publicized by the Ministry of Health. Once the Ministry of Health officially promulgates the new standard, the revised version of the stainless steel container industry standard will also be promulgated soon.

Large, medium and small

The Ministry of Health and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine are currently discussing the revised version of the “Sanitary Standards for Stainless Steel Tableware Containers” (GB9684-1988) published last year. It was the Supor turmoil that became more and more fierce that prompted this revised version of the standard to finally be put on the work schedule of relevant ministries and commissions after one year of publicity, and began to enter the discussion and implementation stage.
This “National Food Safety Standard Stainless Steel Tableware Container” (Draft for Solicitation of Comments) was issued to relevant inspection and testing institutions, industry associations and manufacturers for comments as early as October 22, 2010, and was published on the official website of the Ministry of Health. . The reporter noticed that the draft has adjusted the “materials” of the original standard, and has deleted the regulations on the stainless steel grades that should be used for stainless steel food containers.
